Scat Air (PLL Scat Aircompany) is an airline based in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. It operates services to all major cities of Kazakhstan and to neighbouring countries. Its main base is Shymkent Airport, with hubs at Oral Ak Zhol Airport, Aqtau Airport, Astana International Airport, Atyrau Airport, Kyzylorda Airport and Almaty International Airport.[2]

The airline was established and started operations in 1997. It is owned by Vladimir Denissov (53%) and Vladimir Sytnik (47%).[2]

In April 2007, Scat Air introduced a BAC One-Eleven 500 to its fleet for services between Shymkent, Astana and Almaty. It has been wet leased from local charter airline Transaero. The registration of the aircraft is EX-103,[5][6] ie registered in Kyrgyzstan. All others "Antonov An-24" of SCAT have codes beginning with UN, the registration code of Kazakhstan. A further One-Eleven (EX-086) was wet leased from Trast Aero in June 2007. Both are ex-TAROM aircraft.[7] The aircraft were returned to the lessors in May 2008 and SCAT no longer operates the BAC One-Eleven.[8]
